Hi All,

First post. This forum is great!!!

I found this for free on CL and plan to restore it, I was inspired by the posts here.

Can someone help me identify it? I can not find a serial number.

Thanks.

The wooden work surfaces date it to the early to mid-1990's, I would say. I had a Weber Genesis 2 that was a lot like this, it was a 1992. If those are pinstripes running across the bottom edge of the lid, this might be one of those special editions sold by Sears?

Check the outside back right corner of the cabinet, up high on the cabinet, or under the right side where the gas tank goes. I think that's where the serial number was on mine. With that, Weber Customer Service at 800-446-1071 can tell you the age.

Regards,
Chris

Hello, that looks like a Genesis 5500. You can go to Weber.com (the full site, not mobile) click on Help, then scamatics and enter Genesis 5500 in the product space, and it will show you the exploded view of the grill. You can order the parts you might need by calling Weber's 800 number.

Great find! That was the top of the line at the time.
