Greetings all.
Just moved to Punta Gorda Fl., last year and decided to get another Q. I was looking for a used 2 burner but I missed a few. I have to go to a larger area to have a better selection, I don't mind that as I really like the small hometown feel of my community.
I found a 2000 for $50 bucks, on CL, with 20lb. tank and cover w/ stand, so that wasn't bad. I am still looking for the larger one. I have had the 12.5 BTU ones before so it will be ok for a while.
Totally disassembled it, cleaned it, painted it and put a thermometer (couldn't find a Weber therm so I went with a Charbroil 700 degree model) in the top. Just fired it up and got to 525 degrees F.,. Not bad for an old reconditioned Q. It may go higher after I use it for awhile and put it in the Lanai where the wind won't be a factor.
Anyhow I found this forum and decided to stay awhile. I look forward to contributing what I can and learning some from the "old salts" here.
Tomorrow I will go to Home Depot and get a Travertine tile for my new pizza stone.
that's all for now
Clint
