I trash-picked a 2004 Summit Silver A LPG in about 2012 and I am dead-set on getting another 10 years out of her! I had to replace the grate, flavorizer bars, burner tubes, and ignitor(4x). Other than that, i haven't put a cent into her....Weber has been very generous with warranty replacements.
It seems like the common consensus on these grills are that parts are expensive and that the cookbox rusts through.....well i got a story about that! I called up Weber and said I have some rust in the lid of my cookbox. I guess I should have only said 'lid' because I really didn't understand why the replacement part needed to be shipped freight with lift-gate service.....so I have a new-in-box cookbox sitting in my garage. My main issue is the frame....it is rusted through and starting to fall apart.
