Hello Everyone!

My name is Bryan and I live near Boise, Idaho. In have been looking at the 22" WSM for a few weeks now, along with a few other smokers. Right now I am having a hard time deciding between the WSM and a gravity smoker. I like the convenience of the gravity smoker, but I am still leaning more toward the WSM. I feel there is just less things that can wrong with the WSM compared to something mechanical and I like the challenge of not being set it and forget it. I have already picked out a few mods that I want to do right away. I currently own a Weber gas grill and have been happy with it. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning more about the WSM.

Wife gifted me an 18” for Christmas and I couldn’t be more pleased. Multiple cooks, no issues to note and no mods as of yet. Good luck with your decision and welcome!

Welcome, Bryan. It’s great to have another person from Idaho on the forum. I’m in Star. I cooked and competed on a WSM years ago, still have it with some mods. If you have any q’s, let me know.

Welcome! The WSMs are great!……I have a WSM 18 thats about 8 years old now. Research this forum, make a bunch of cooks and tweak cooks/flavors to get YOUR favorites. Rinse and repeat. M-ost of the better food I happen to turn out comes from recipe ideas off this forum.
Or…. Just straight copy/paste.

Happy Cooking!!!
