Hello and greetings. Thanks for letting me join you all! I found you because I was restoring a 1995 Weber Performer and I had to replace the ash sweep/vent system and my model has the "ash bar" which goes over the middle and I just could not get the H washer on as well as the bracket. Well low and behold I found a thread from 2009 where the gentlemen were talking about that very thing! They arrived at the same conclusion as me. Don't need the h washer :) It was great to have a confirmation of this! I finished about 98% of the refurb. I need to get a 5 lb bottle to go with the grill for the gas assist but that is about it except a few grommets. I am very happy with the restoration and look forward to many cooks!!! I throughly enjoyed doing the refurb too. I am going to keep my eye out for free or cheap kettles form now on!

Welcome C.

Looking forward to seeing some pics of the SSP in action.

You mentioned free kettles..

I've got a free 22 inch MBH for the first one to knock on the door, though it's a bit of a drive for you.
