After lurking for a while, decided to share my first two projects - a 2001 (DA) Silver B green head and a 1999 (EE) 1000 red head.
The Silver B was snagged from an estate sale along with the original owner's manual. Other than the usual deep cleaning, new flavorizers and gas catcher/accumulator box were pretty much all it truly needed, though decided to do a complete break down, rust treatment in the few areas of need, repaint, stainless steel hardware replacement ( screws for the drip pan rails and burner guides pending), new grates, warming rack and basket.
Picked up the 1000 red head from FB MP. It needed considerably more work than the Silver B. Unfortunately I was so anxious to get started that I failed to take any "before" pics, at least not much of material interest. As soon as its wheels it my driveway, the breakdown began and didn't stop until everything possible was completely disassembled. A far more meticulous cleaning, repaint and rebuild followed shortly thereafter, including refinishing the original wood slats and handle, which I stained mahogany and sealed with several coats of urethane.
While not perfect by any stretch, have to admit that I'm pretty happy with the results and looking forward to possible future endeavors.
