Hello there, I have been smoking for about a year and a half now.
It all started when my wife found a "curb alert" for a "smoker" and it was right around the corner. It was a free Brinkmann smoker. I smoked a few things on that one. Then a few months later my wife found me a 18.5 WSM for $20 on a Facebook group. I wasted no time and picked it up, it even had a cover :) and what a difference from the Brinkmann!. I checked the date code and its from 1995 but I would have never guessed because it's in really good shape except the wooden handle on top is a little bent. I have been smoking something almost every weekend ever since haha.

Does anyone know when they started making the WSM?

P.S. today I picked up a 14.5 today on clearance! :wsm22:

Welcome to the forum Rick. Congrats on the new 14.5 and getting the original 18.5. This is a great place to learn and to share also.

Welcome Rick. I still don't have a WSM but search craigslist every day. You have 2. I'm jealous. Looking forward to seeing what you cook up.
