Hi all! I've been a long time lurker on this sub and finally decided to sign up. This board has taught me a lot about my grills and I wanted to say thank you.
My biggest take away is that I was in the dark about the warranty for these grills and recently took advantage of it. I have two Webers, a Genesis 330 (bought new) and a Summit 670 (recently bought off FB marketplace), both 2014 models.
The Summit had the usual rust issue in the cook box. The warranty expired in March of this year but Weber being Weber, approved a replacement with zero hesitation. I also received a new lid for the Genesis and was told that it's cook box was under warranty until 2039 and call when I get any rust holes...how do they stay in business!
So I get both parts delivered within about 5-7 days, well the cook box came with a broken bracket arm where the manifold mounts to. I call Weber and they say no problem, we'll send you a new one, so now I have two brand new cook boxes.
I decided to fix the broken one, which was an easy fix, since the load on the arm is minimal and jb weld claims to have over 4700lbs of tensile strength, I feel confident it can hold the control panel. So in short I have an extra cook box if anyones warranty expired!
I look forward to contributing in any way I can, even though there is more knowledge on this site than one can imagine.
Thanks again! Paul
