A man owns a small farm in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Labor Board claimed he is underpaying his help, so they sent an agent down to interview him.
“I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them,” demanded the agent.
“Well,” replied the farmer, “Dere’s my farm hand—I pay 'im 'bout $200 a week an' free room in' board."
"The cook has been here a bit more than a year and I pay 'er 'bout $150 every week an' free room in' board."
"Den dere’s dat half-wit who works 'bout 18 hours 'er day an' does about 90% ovda work.
He makes 'bout $10 a week, pays 'is own room in' board, ani buy 'im a bottle of bourbon every Saderday night.
An, once in 'erwhile, he’s pretty sociable wid my wife.”
“That’s the guy I want to talk to—the half-wit.” says the agent.
“You’re talkin' to 'em.” replied the farmer.
