Heatermeter 4.3 help

I have a new heater meter that i put together. The issue i'm having is with the LCD screen. the device works fine except the LCD is blank. The screen is physically on and lit up but there is nothing on the screen. i've gone over all of the soldier points and it looks good, any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you, I did do that. the screen is very bright, just has no text or anything displayed
