Hey

I am smoking going to be smoking a turkey for turkey day, and have had a request to heat up a ham in the smoker.

Pre-cooked meat in the smoker, what is this?

I have questions for anyone who has any experience with this.

1. High heat turkey, should i pull the bird bring temps down then heat the ham, or expose the ham to high heat??

2. I always get close to my target heat temp, and then glaze and blast. Will a glaze set at those low temps?

3. any other suggestions???

Shawn,

Get your Burnz O Matic torch out. Go To the Pork recipe section and see Chris' post on Honey Baked Ham Clone. It works and is a lot of fun!!!!

Shawn I did something similar for a mixed cook. I did my turkey in the rotis though and butts were in the WSM before I added the ham - so I brought temps up. I used a spiral cut ham and a basic brown sugar glaze. I used a common propane the torch with a broad tip on the glaze (idea from the post mentioned up thread).

Works fine in the WSM I did the Ham at about 350% just until it hit about 130, started glazing until it hit about 140, but was really waiting for the glaze to finish.

Then I threw on the sausage.....
