We went to Goodwill yesterday. Found a nice crusty Wagner #3 for $3.99 When I got to the check out we had enough points it was FREE, my favorite price.
It should clean up nice like my other one.

Richard, It will not be until spring that I can get to doing this. However here are the before and after shots of my other #3 Wagner. I use electrolysis to clean the pans.

I don't think I've ever seen cleaning a CI pan done this way before. How are you doing this and how does this work?

Chad, I would redirect you to my old post on how this is done but I can not seem to find it since we switched over to the new forum software.
I will re-write it and post a new link here. It seems I get asked this question at least every time I post a pic of my pans. Maybe we can get Chris to sticky it this time.

Tim, great idea for the sticky. As soon as it warms up again here in MN I'm going to give this a try on several ci pans and grates I've acquired recently.

Dennis, thank you for the link!!

The link Dennis posted shows the big dog cleaners. Mine is much smaller and more suited for doing a pan here and there. Those guys do a lot of pots and pans and are most likely dealers of CI.
I will include that link again when I get my post redone.

I think this is the post you're looking for. A search on "Timothy Hoffman" + "electrolysis" found it.

Oh, and I made the link above sticky.

Regards,
Chris

Close but no cigar, Chris. It was a post I made here in 2011. My post contained combined information from BlackIrondude, WAGS, and myself. Not a big deal as I have all the photos and can re-write most of it.

Wow! My oven cleaner sprayed on a CI skillet and left in a garbage bag for a couple of days seems pretty primitive. Great work, good looking. Thanks for sharing.
