
Marinated some flanken short ribs as LA Style Kalbi and decided to do a head to head with my new to me GrillGrates on the Vieluxe
I cleaned and seasoned the GG with grapeseed oil all over and let them cool. Preheated both on low then medium (with SS rods - I always cover with disposable aluminum pan to hold heat at grate level) and cooked on medium
Wife immediately asked if I cooked them differently and preferred the GG appearance (thought the regular grates looked drier and tough) even though I did not tell her
Both tasted fine to me though the SS rods were more well done - definitely much more heat with the convection and I had a hard time flipping both sides as they were both sticking
