Hello everyone,
My name is Brent and I've from Upstate NY (Albany area). I got the smoking bug last summer and picked up a Weber OTS kettle on fire sale at Target (score!). I've had quite a few successful cooks on it so far, including:
* 9 lb pork shoulder
* Many various sausages
* Thanksgiving turkey & gravy
* Whole chicken (split in half)
During a somewhat "mild period" a few weeks ago (~20F degrees) I cold smoked 2 pounds of cheddar and colby cheese. It was two weeks mellowed out in the fridge as of yesterday and it's quite tasty.
Once it warms back up to normal BBQ temps, I'm looking to try some ribs. Can't wait to give them a try.
Well that's it for an intro. I've learned a lot from this site so far and figured I'd start participating a little now. Thanks for all the great info!
