I'm a Yankee who thought BBQ was a steak on a gas grill till I moved to the south in 2005. I enjoy cooking in general, my favorite magazine is cooks illustrated. I think I stumbled on this site several years ago when searching for a better butt recipe to cook on my OTG. In learning about Mr. Brown I also discovered the Mini-WSM. I built one that weekend and have since added a Performer Gold and a 22" WSM.
I'm still learning but spend most my time researching for my next cook and consuming myself in smoke science. I plan to enter my first competition in December so I will spend the next few months perfecting my recipes for comp style cooking and learning how to build a good box.
