Is that just an old version or did he add a thermometer to it by the handle?

It’s a second-generation Performer. Both the SSP and that had the thermometer through the high lid handle.

Yep and you can pull out the thermometer and check your food temp also.

I had one in green they have a 18 inch bowl,nice little cooker when you add in the table. Great starter grill, I flipped it.
