Gotta bulge in my box

Soooooo I am working on an old school silver B....she is in overall good condition but I just noticed a bulge on the right side...control panel side of the box. I guess its the size of maybe a baseball dent.......I assume maybe she caught fire one time or something but I see no evidence of that on the other parts. So my question is......if they bulge are they weakened..... or play ball......???

I have seen several of them on my rehabs. Play ball. Just don't swing at the slider. It will be down and away, out of the strike zone.

If it has a bulge it is probably warped. Put a straight edge tool on the front of the box or put some grates in to check that they don’t fall into the firebox before you get too far.

Ya grates fit ok....it might be a little off but not by too much. Resto is at 90% will be putting back together thurs

Just put a fig leaf over the bulge and you should be ok
