Got me a 22.5'' WSM.

After much debate on how often I would have the time to smoke up some meat I took the plunge and bought a 22.5 WSM so my S330 Genesis and Q100 wouldn't be lonely.

Looking forward to doing some ribs soon. I mixed up some rub, read almost everything, and will be picking up some St. Louis style ribs. Can someone recommend how much charcoal (Kingsford Blue bag) to use for 3 slabs of ribs for 6hrs? Im guessing half full will do for the 22.5?

I will split them into 6 half slabs to try different recipes/mustard ''glue'', 321 method, etc.

Looking forward to learning and contributing.

Hi James, congrats on the new WSM and welcome aboard.
I always fill my charcoal ring to the top. Any unused fuel can be used on the next cook.

Welcome aboard James.
Like Bob said fill up the charcoal ring and when your done cooking close all vents.

Welcome James, seems like more socal people here lately. Add my vote to a full ring. When done close all vents and you will have fuel left over for the next cook. Good luck and good eats.

Hello and welcome . Full er up... Won't waste much and close down all the vents at the end and it will go out on its own
