I was cruising my local Randall's (Safeway) to get some stuff for dinner and saw that they had some Safeway Select Extra Meaty Loin Back Ribs marked at $1.49/lb.I've had more good luck than bad with these, so I grabbed the three packs that were in the case. They are 2.6, 2.8 and 3.1 pounds, so they should work out somewhat well. I have an old friend visiting from out of town tomorrow for dinner, so the timing is perfect.
I'm thinking of either apple or cheery chunks with possibly some hickory if I can get around to grabbing a new bag. I have to get the miter saw out to cut the fruit wood down to size.
They had more in the freezer case, but they didn't have the $1.49 price and were still at the $4.49 regular price. I should have asked, but I didn't even have a basket with me and it would have been a cold load to carry.
