I thought it might be fun to try a vortex-style cook on the CGA. Leaning into the GA, shape, the vortex should probably be a rectangle! Enter a tapered steel loaf pan with the bottom cut out, set upside down in the middle of the charcoal grate. This would give two “indirect” wings for chicken bits, etc.
This loaf pan comes Amazon from a company called Chicago Metallic for $16. It fit about a compact chimney’s worth (~18?) of B&B briquettes.
I want to try some wings on this, but only had some tenders on hand at the time - good enough for a weeknight dinner! Nice cook, I’d try it again.
