So my buddy gave me a free grill he had laying around. I believe it is a Genesis Gold C 2000-2001 series. All the info was washed off the little sticker. After much research I came to the conclusion that it is the Genesis Gold C 2000-2001. The outside wasn't in too bad shape, it was the inside that needed some love.
As of now the parts I've ID'ed for replacement are:
flavorizer bars (will replace with the thicker ebay SS bars)
burner set
grates
thermometer
main ignitor
warming rack & basket
all hardware will be replaced with ss hardware
new paint for frame, outside of flamebox and lid end caps
I figured all the parts will cost right around $200, which is not bad considering a brand new grill like this would cost twice as much.
Here are some pictures. Sorry for the bad pics.
Took her apart and gave her a good cleaning.
Question: How do I get the Weber decal all nice and shiny again? Will some fine steel wool work?
