GENESIS COVER CRACKING

My 1 1/2 year old cover has a crack. It sits out full time and does a good job of keeping the grill nice.

It seems soon for a $50 cover to crack.

Has anyone put ArmorAll on their cover?

Hey Dave! Welcome to the forum

The cover I have is not a vinyl cover, not quite sure what it's made of but I do know it's authentic Weber (cuz I bought it from them). This one is four years old and still looks new living in the outdoors.
The original cover that came with gold genie (bought my genie used) was made of vinyl and it cracked serverely from the cold, snow, heat, and sun. It was the type with the soft white lining inside.
Sorry I have no good answer for you but glad you stopped in

maybe call weber about it. armor all is not that great. go to an auto upholstery shop and see what they use. stuff i had was water based and was great on vinyl and leather. i know that stuff made for boats will last a long time.

I have the same one Jim has .. 5 years and going strong. I too had an aftermarket type that worked fine in Orlando but once I moved up here, cracked the 1st Winter. I have a Weber cover on my Platinum too and it's holding up fine. Both are exposed to the elements and although the Genesis in on a covered deck, it does get rain and snow.

Call Weber. I had the same thing happen to the cover of my kettle and it is kept in the garage. It was only a year old so I gave them a call and they sent me a new one with no questions asked.
