Genesis 330 one knob is at 11:57 on the clock vs 12:00 what could that be?

Hello all......hoping for a quick hitter here. Just finished a Genesis 330 fliperoo....Doing last minute tests and tuning burner tubes...leak testing regulator ( it failed ) and noticed the first knob is not at the 12 o clock position. Note this is not the standard bent brass shaft or even the slide to the left or right. The knob is just slightly off dead center. Before I crack into it tomorrow maybe one of you guys have fixed this before. My first guess is that the small brass pin may have chipped the inside of the valve rail or the brass pin itself might be bent. Orrrrrrr maybe a dried grease blob stopping the return to 12 o clock? Of course I will open the valve tomorrow but thought I would pick your brains so when I wake up and check replies I might be able to enjoy my coffee. :)
Ohhhh or the knob itself is partly stripped.....easiest of all but I dont think so.

It's it the brass shaft of the valve? edit: I just checked mine and "off" means the flat part of the the D on the Valve is level for all of my valves. If so it's a bad valve.

Or it it the weak plastic knob? As Cody mentioned these are weak and split.

If you swap plastic knobs does the problem stay with the valve or follow the knob?

Good morning folks............woke up.....enjoying my coffee.......reading possible solutions. The heat is on.....the buyer will be here in 2 hours and I have to replace the regulator and mess around with that knob.......then move the wifes car out of the way.....roll the grill off the deck on ramps.... ( 4 steps ) down into the garage.......then remove the side shelf so I can tip it in her minivan and give it a new home. Will let you know if I figure out the knob issue. I dont like rushing ......I do like drinking hot coffee in my chair
 
Well that one will keep me up at night until I see another one with that symptom and fix it. The buyer msgd me and said they would be a half hour early.....that only gave me time to Bar Keepers the stainless to a mirror shine and replace the regulator with a shiny new one. It wasnt the knob :( . I did notice there was a little play in this knob vs the others. This tells me ...if you follow the knob to the brass shaft......that is notched into the cone valve with that little pin.....it must be......The spring is bound up or twisted.....or that little brass pin at the end of the brass shaft is slightly bent. I sure wish I could have tweaked it before she picked it up but it worked flawlessly and I was out of time. 330's in my market are at $425 restored but its a lot of work for a few bucks thats for sure.
