Genesis 300 rebuild

OK, file under I'm an idiot. Replaced all the slats and now I can't recall how to reassemble the swing table. Any insight will help.

Hi Blair,

Welcome. Post a pic of yours as Steve suggested and I'm sure we can help sort it out.

I'm going to make a guess that you meant Genesis 3000, ( not 300 ) as the 300 series do not have a swing up table and you mentioned slats.

If it is the left hand side table, the 1000/2000/3000 are all the same. Here are a couple of pics I found on the site that might help.

Brian, I am confident that I could easily place 20 pounds or more an that swing shelf and not have any problem.
By the way, my rod is not "bent" really except at the 90 degree angles where it attaches into the slide bracket on the frame and then again where it angles into the bracket on the shelf itself. Unless you have a different model of shelf support, it might be bent incorrectly.

Here are a couple photos of my swing shelf in the down and then up positions, showing the support hardware. Also, a video showing the swing shelf operation on my grill...

Hi folks, thanks for all the invaluable info over the years. You have been a huge resource in helping me hopefully bring one of these beautiful grills back to life.

I have a rusted-out donor 2000 and a much nicer 1100 that I have been combining into a franken grill. I salvaged the swing-up table slats from one grill (crazy how durable they are, see attached photo, this was the same wood!) and fabricated new slats for the side table. I refinished the z-bars and started re-assembly when I ran into the problem below. I tried switching the orientation of the bracket circled in red and it...

did you see your burgundy platinum lid in the pic ? The picture is 18 months old and It is still there....

I almost forgot about that lid. I would like to have it if it's pristine. I know you'll dig it out eventually.

Thanks gentlemen! Yes, it is a 3000. Guess I'm a lazy typist as well as an idiot. The pic with the measuring tape is exactly what I needed. I have attached pics of my "redhead" as requested. Finishing sanding the handle today and then reassembling. Thanks again.
