If anything opening the lid would allow them to blow out. I'm thinking something is not right here. What is being described is simply just not possible.Larry, that is my thoughts as well. But, I am just going with what the OP said about having to keep the lid open to keep the flames lit. I also think it is something limiting gas flow. But I cannot figure out what opening or closing the lid could do to change that.
My genesis 1000 goes out after about 10 minutes. I've cleaned the burner tubes, replaced the regulator and blew out the manifold. It will stay lit if I crack the lid open a little. It's as if it isn't getting enough air. The burner tube screens are clear. Any suggestions?
