Ah good to know. When I looked up the part number, 56038, everywhere listed it as 1000-3000. I couldn't imagine how it would be different for the 4000 or 5000 but I wasn't sure. Mine has the side burner.A 4000-5000 manifold should work just fine on your 3000. If the donor grill has a side burner and yours does not, you might need to plug the tap hole for the side burner...but that is simple. Other than that, it should be a direct swap.
The vertical slide in section to mount the tank hanger is also needed. This piece was missing on the 98 Platinum NG I picked up. The NG frame had the notches and a hole in the bottom for the mounting bolt.Yeah, the manifolds are all the same for those grills, the only difference being whether you need the port for the side burner or not. You might also consider picking up a used grill to get the part(s) you need. If your grill was originally natural gas it is probably missing the tank panel and scale since those parts obviously weren't needed.
Right, I believe Weber calls it a tank panel but a picture is better. The vertical slide in section to mount the tank hanger is also needed.View attachment 69568
I picked up a NG grill last year because I wanted the Platinum series lid. I already had the extra parts to convert it to propane but now have a NG manifold that I will never need(probably)The vertical slide in section to mount the tank hanger is also needed. If I could cost effectively plumb NG to my back patio I'd switch. Fuel cost is about 1/3 and I wouldn't have to lug tanks around.I picked up a NG grill last year because I wanted the Platinum series lid. I would too. I bought a pool ten years ago or so and got a heater for it before finding out how much running the gas line to the back yard would cost. I sold the heater on OfferUp after I got a couple of quotes. If I could cost effectively plumb NG to my back deck I'd switch. Fuel cost is about 1/3 and I wouldn't have to lug tanks around.
It is also missing the side panel and scale. I have been looking but there aren't many grills in my area. I drove pretty far to get the NG one I have now.Yeah, the manifolds are all the same for those grills, the only difference being whether you need the port for the side burner or not. No.I have a 07-12 Spirit E-320 can I steal the orifices and valves from that?
I don't know if those parts are compatible, but I doubt it. It would definitely be better to use the right parts. You could buy a brand new manifold for that grill, but you already know it's going to cost about $200 and you are still missing the other parts you need to make the grill complete. I would keep checking Facebook marketplace and OfferUp for a cheap donor grill. It may take some patience on your part but something will turn up eventually and it can be any Genesis 1-5 or 1000-5000 for the parts to be compatible. It is also missing the side panel and scale. If Max can't find anything else, he may want to get in touch with @TomRc He flips a lot of grills and may have a nice stash of parts, plus he's in NY.I sold an NG x000 manifold 18 months ago. I wonder if the buyer still has the LP sitting in a box.
I do have several used ones kicking around along with the vertical mounting panels and both styles of tank scales. I’ll be honest, I rarely sell off parts primarily because I hate the hassle of packing and shipping. I might be able to help out a fellow NY’er, though. FWIW, the part # is 56038 for the manifold and you can still buy them new in an internet search. Most fall within the $130-$180 price range before shipping and they come complete with hose /regulator and mounting hooks. If Max can't find anything else, he may want to get in touch with @TomRc He flips a lot of grills and may have a nice stash of parts, plus he's in NY.
