Fried Shrimp on the Grill

Last night I wanted to do some fried shrimp for dinner, but my wife does not like the cooking odors left when they are fried in the house.
So I thought OK, I can do these out on the old Genesis. I took a Bakers Square pie pan with about 1/2" of peanut oil and set it on the
grillgrates and cranked up the heat for about 6 minutes. Then put a couple of "test shrimp" in the oil and closed the lid. About 2-1/2 minutes
later they were perfect. I filled the pan with shrimp, and placed the rest on the grillgrates with all the burners down to medium. Both were
delicious, and the ones on the grates had nice grill marks on the breading. I would do shrimp this way again, and maybe on the kettle next
time if I'm not in a hurry. Give this a try if you like fried shrimp.

The ones I did for this cook were frozen and came breaded. When I get to go shrimpin in Florida I use a tempura
style breading with rice flour. They should start moving toward the end of the month to early February on the Atlantic side,
my pail, net and light are waiting.
