Yah, it isn't like you will see it when using the grill anyway. But you can paint those and it will look a lot better and give those rusty edges a bit more protection. I would use a rust reformer first though. I use Rustoleum Rust Reformer. It is probably a little cheaper at Menards if you have one close by, but here is the Amazon listing.

Bruce, are you suggesting painting that drip tray?

If you plan on cleaning out the inside of the cook box with a wire wheel it's much easier to do while it's still sitting in the frame. That's the only thing I would do before taking it completely apart but that's just my preference. Others might find it easier outside of the frame.

Thanks Josh,
Good point.

I usually end up doing a combination of in the frame and out of frame cleaning myself. I still get that cook box bolt out first since that is a potential problem to begin with.

Josh from the look of the bottom of the swing table you posted it looks like I only have two of the 3 pieces of hardware that attach to the slats. I do not have the front end. Do you have pictures of what all that looks like?

Those stainless-steel ones you have Josh are very nice. I do not think I am going to that extreme though.

Ooh ok

Yes Samuel I can agree with that. I will be happy to refurbish old z bars on some of my grills. And some of them honestly just need a coat of wax others in need sanding and repainting and if the grill is worth it then get stainless from Dave's but it's definitely not a requirement in my opinion

Ha ha, you're lucky. Zbars around here are usually too rusty to bother with. I do get lucky sometimes with them just needing a good cleaning with wax and steel wool.
