First smoke

Hi -

Doing my first smoke in the wsm today. I was going to do spares in similar style to Britu, however, I've only got hickory. I realize I shouldn't use that much. Any potential problems with this?

Oak isn't necessarily that mild a smoke wood, either. If in doubt, use about half as much hickory, and be sure to follow the instruction to let it become fully engulfed before cooking over it.

ryan - I use hickory for almost all of my smokes. Spares, included. You'll be fine.
