Before the wildfires, Farmers had committed to writing more policies in CA:
I can't help but think that this is a privately-held, for-profit company, and that it is a bit of overreach for a government to tell a privately-held, for-profit company how to run their business, free enterprise being just that...free enterprise. And if you don't want to pay for insurance, don't buy it and see what happens.
However, the angel on the other shoulder says that it's not really fair for a company to be able to cherry-pick who their clients are...I'm conflicted. Florida has a government-run insurance program and we can all see how well that is doing.
Well, we are not going to solve the world's problems on a BBQ forum today, are we?
