Fire Starter

I belong to a forum on wood burning stoves - hearth.com. A great resource if you burn a wood stove. Folks on that forum touted SuperCedar as a great stove starter. It's a mix of paraffin and cedar designed for chefs. I got a free sample (just contact the owner) and, after trying them, requested that my son get me a box for Christmas. 1/4 of a starter is good for a wood burning stove and is also an outstanding starter for barbecuing or grilling. Much better than any other method for starting charcoal! When I use them, I break them into quarters on a sharp edge of a desk and then open the wrapper in a plastic bag. Highly recommended product.

Bryan, I buy the small packs of Duraflame logs and do the same as you. Cut them into quarters. Does a great job of getting them coals going
