Fire Pit Tri Tip

This was a fun way to use the pit. Corn caught on fire a couple times, Oh Well. Tri Tip (Select) $2.89 lb at Smart & Final . Cooked over Red Oak splits.




The middle was perfect 125° rare

Definitely a creative setup! I bet if you called a couple welding shops & emailed a pic or two, they might be able to weld a custom grate for not much money (I'm imagining a circle of angle iron surrounding expanded metal).

Good thing the corn's protected in that husk Just added a little to the corn flavor
