Hi guys.

I read the whole "ET-73 Mod" thread and appreciate all the info. I took the plunge and ordered one. I know I will be able to get the range I need 'cause of all your hard work (thanks for that)! I'm going to assume these things are accurate. I didn't see anyone questioning the accuracy of the unit. My question(s) are; are they in fact accurate and how do you test the accuracy if you cannot submerge it in water (i.e the boiling water test)?

The sensor is in the very tip of the probe. The part you don't want water getting into is where the cable enters the other end of the probe. The manufacturers just cover their bases by saying "do not submerge". Just poke the probe about 2" into boiling water, and you'll be fine.
