Dr. Pepper and BBQ

My intro to BBQ was Ott's BBQ just 2 miles from I-40 and I-75 west Of Knoxville. Cinder block building, half dozen stools, gravel parking lot.
A chopped sandwich with a vinegar sauce-hot or mild. I preferred mild so I could add more myself. NO slaw thank you. The sandwiches were plain buns of course heated in a flat sandwich press. Just slightly 'pressed' and warm inside and out. Nothing went better with those than Dr. Pepper.
In my journey to make the best KC sauce, I needed a thinner for my sauce. DR. Pepper!
