Saying "Hello" from the oldest city in America. I recently moved down here and am living full time in a Motor Coach. I've been cooking on Webers for decades. I started off on a basic black OTG. I added a 22.5" Smokey Mountain and added a Cajun Bandit door and an Unknown lid hinge. Later I also threw in a CyberQ for brisket cooks.
Down the road I added a 26er and Cajun Bandit Roti. With the addition of the 26er, I gifted my original OTG to a long-time friend.
Fast forward to retirement - I was a Special Educator for 40 years. Then, with my mom's passing, I decided to move to Florida, if only for the tax savings.
In doing that I decided to downsize my life and live full time in my Motor Coach. I gave the Smokey Mountain to one S-i-L, and he's still using it for ribs & butts. I brought the 26er down and am storing it on my other daughter's lanai. I've cooked ribs and wings (Vortex) a couple of times but it's pretty much in retirement as well.
After settling into the Camperhood, I went on Craig's List and found a 2002 One Touch Platinum up in JAX. It has a few dents but is, otherwise, in great shape. It came with a Slow n' Sear and a set of Grill Grates. I was fortunately able to adopt it for the low, low price of $50 ! ! !
I've recently added a cast iron Drip n' Griddle and am on step 1 of seasoning it right now. I can't wait to give it a work out.
I am looking for to reading up on what you guys are cooking and getting new ideas to try out.
