Door stuck

First cook with my new WSM went great. One small problem - the knob on the access hatch is already gunked up and hard to turn.

Has anyone else had this problem? What the heck did I do wrong?

Hi Tony,

I have probably done about 25 cooks on my WSM and I haven't had any problem with the door knob. It works just like it did when I bought the unit. Sometimes if you turn the knob too far to the right it will tighten up and won't turn anymore. This could be the case, but I'm not sure.
