Door Assembly fit gaps - 22.5

I just assembled my new WSM 22.5...Noticed when I attached the door assembly and placed in the locked position there is a gap between the top of the door assembly and the cooker. Will this heat up and form a better seal or do I need to bend the Door Assembly for a snug fit?

You will need to do some adjusting on your door to get a tight fit. This is a recurring problem for all WSM users. With a few minutes of effort you should get a nice tight seal. Or go and buy the cajun bandit door upgrade.

Even a CB can have fit issues, mine did, I bent it slightly and there was smoke leaking out at the top of the door, but after about 4 smokes the patina (gunk) built up to where it doesn't leak at all now.

Its easy to adjust but use you upper leg contour to help reshape it in small adjustments. They are made of metal but do bend real easy, except the CB door which is a little harder to. My first smokers door fit good but got a CB one as a gift. This second smokers orig one fit loosely out of the box but I was able to tweak it for a smooth fit. I bought a CB door for it anyways as I liked it from first smoker as they are heavier and easier to open close. :)
