Got to love it, get the grill upto a solid 400 get the beans, potatoes and corn on for a indirect heat soak, out of the blue a hour long thunderstorm pulls in . the moister immediately pulls 100 + degrees out of the kettle. guess that wont hurt too much because gonna be a while before I can get the Burgers on in this mess, so low and slow it is. LOL atleast till i can resurrect my coals.

Really need to put a roof of some type over the grill

The Cheese Burgers, BBQ baked beans, and Corn on the cobb, all came out great. The Chocolate milkshake my wife made was incredible. The

The Hasselbeck Potatoes did not, not crispy, not soft, not done even with the extra hour on the grill. Wife even threw them in the microwave for 5 minutes to try and soften them up. made them edible but not worth the effort for the end product. 1st time trying them and not sure I would do it again.

Hope you all had a good 4th

Yeah, we're getting the rain here in Northern CA also, which is quite unusual for this time of year. Been thinking about getting some type of roof/gazebo over the WSM and the propane smoker. Maybe do one for the grills too.

Well, i know today wasnt ideal for you guys to get rain but you need it bad enough to take anytime you can get it. I lived in the bay area a long time before moving to Georgia.

Hope you made the best of the Holiday

It's an amazing 4th of July in north central CA.

Able to cook and will eat outside and not perish in 100 degree heat.

It is a beautiful spring day.

Dang, hate to hear that. Rain is usually a blessing but it sucks when it messes up your cook - especially on a holiday!
Sounds like you pulled it off anyway - congrats!
Maybe give those Hasselbacks one more chance.
I think they're awesome. :giggle:
