Michael, what is the diameter of the diffuser plate? I have pizza kettle attachment clips that enable me to put the rack level with the top of the bowl. I would just have to fabricate a diffuser to sit at normal grate level.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this one, but I just checked yesterday, but when I put the two half plates together the diameter is 19 and 1/4 inches. Odd I know but I measured multiple places and got the same each time.
