Does anyone know of a good free photo retouching program?

I know this is probably not the best place to post this topic, but after seeing all the Great photography here, it's the best place to ask.

On previous PC's over the years I've had included simple programs with one touch fix etc. Anyone know if they are still available? I have trouble with lighting and contrast with the old Kodak 7.1 pixel. Not to mention the photographer's eye.

Thanks

Mike, I have all the "brand name ones", but have found that THIS which is Picasa and a free app from Google works just as well as my Adobe programs. Give it a try.

Thanks Guys! I'll look into them. I'm just wanting a one touch fix without the program rearranging all my photos.

Coming from you Guys, after seeing your pic's here, I know they are all good.

Thanks!

Mike, if you go with Picasa when it asked to search and catalog your photos, just tell it no and it won't. I know what a pain it is to have a program mess up my photo files.

Picasa 3.0

BOOST

single slider, punches up contrast and color saturation. It improves 95% of my pictures.

occasionally, I'll individually adjust: white balance, shadows, and saturation

Well Friends, I ended up with Picasa 3.9 from Google so far, it's easy. The retouched photo's look Super on my HD monitor however, I use tinypic as a host. www.tinypic.com I'm starting to wonder if I'm loosing something in the translation.

Here is the original photo I posted awhile back for a flatiron steak cook:

He is the same photo retouched with contrast and light:

I can tell a huge diff here. Does it look better on the site?

Thanks Friends!

Thanks Mike, I did go through that and then just allowed the Cooking pic's in.

Looks great Mike!

A lot depends on how much you want to play around with a pic.
There is a retouch feature that I sometimes use to clean up my messy plate.
I used it to help clean up your juices a bit

Mike, the picture from Picasa looks terrific! The boost is on the last tab in the edit module. You can control how much, etc.

How did you do that Bob, or do I need to attend your class to find out?

Thanks Mike! Looks like a learning curve ahead.

I use the photo editor in Photobucket just to sharpen my lousy cell phone pics. Need a real camera to get better pics.
