Does anyone have a source for Royal Oak Chef's Select Charcoal?

Dear Board,

I've found this on occasion at my local Ace Hardware store but they are out of it and so am I. I'd really like to find it again. I'm hoping someone knows where I could pick some up close by to Harrisburg, PA but I would consider looking at having a larger quantity of it shipped to me if that is the only other option.

Can anyone help a brother out? And please disregard the deplorable condition of my garage, it's Winter and I have to find a place to stash far too much junk until it's Spring again. :o

Regards,

Tim Murphy :D

I had a local butcher that used to carry it but the guy who supplied them died, I really like that stuff and might have to try Do it Best.

Dear Bruce,

Thanks for the tip. Come to think of it my local store used to be an Ace Hardware affiliate but now they are a Do-It-Best affiliate so I will check with them to see if they can order some into the store for me?

I like the stuff because it seems to me at least that it burns a little slower and doesn't quite get as hot as regular Kingsford. I find that an advantage when I want to do something for a couple of hours like ribs or a pork roast for BBQ sandwiches since I don't have a smoker.

Regards,

Tim Murphy ;)

There's an Amish welding company that makes custom pits in New Holland, about an hour out of Harrisburg. They have a small supply store as well that carrys anythign you need for bbqing, like rubs, sauces, gurus, charcoal etc. Last time I was there they had a hefty supply of the briquettes you're looking for, but that was a couple years ago.

You might want to call before you make the trip, but they should still have it.
