Difference between Genesis Gold grills

I've recently picked up a couple of older Genesis Gold grills that have a wire rack on the bottom to support the grill. Later versions of this grill have a sort of metal tray on the bottom instead, which I don't like , but that isn't the point. I haven't seen one of this style in person but I was wondering a couple of things. It looks like on these grills with the tray that there are left to right cross members on the frame and this tray is attached to it. Is this right, or is that the tray itself has the cross members built in? I'm trying to figure out how this works in case I decide to pick one of these up to flip and I need to do something about the bottom.Screenshot_20250527-095619.png

My buddy bought one while he was living here in the states. he took it with him to the UK. I seem to recall there were bars (left to right) and the shelf was a stamped piece that hooked over

Ok. I wasn’t sure. Thought you knew that 🤣

It just looks like it goes over something.
So it looks like the tray snaps on to four cross members as opposed to the wire rack that snaps on two. That's interesting because the grills I've come across with the wire rack don't have mounting holes in the frame for those additional cross members. Weber apparently went to the trouble of reengineering the frame to add two cross members so they could eliminate the nice, heavy duty wire rack and use a sheet metal tray instead. Does this sound about right?
