Did I screw up?

I've got a couple pork butts on the bottom rack and a large brisket on the top. I was just adding some more lit charcoal and water, and ended up hitting the coals with the water, spewing lots of ash up on the meat /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Am I screwed? How can I best recover from this catastrophe? Will it be edible?

A spray bottle with apple juice or cider vinegar would be useful. Spray generously to wash off the ash, and then come back with some rub to replenish what was washed off.

Maybe take the opportunity, too, to switch the butts to the top. Dripping pork fat makes good brisket baste.
