Did I get hosed?

I bought my 22.5 about a month ago from a local store here in the area.

After doing some reading and looking at schematics on Weber's website, I appear to be missing the grommet.

From what I've seen, that is supposed to be on models 2009 and newer.

It was a floor model the manager said they were just using for a display.

Is it possible this was a pre-2009 model they still had around?

I trusted the manager because I've gone to this store a lot of times for other things and have always had a great experience, so something like this would have never cross my mind.

Any info would be appreciated as I'm tempted to go back to the store and hash it out with the manager.
 
They are correct. You probably have a 2013 model. The model with the grommet is a brand new model for 2014. If if bothers you that much, I would return the one you have now and order from Amazon as they are selling the 2014 model.
 
Did you get a discount on the floor model? Should have been $399 +tax for full retail
Me, I'm not one who cares for the grommet as I prefer the notch mod instead.
 
Ok. Cool, I'm glad it was just a 2013 vs 2014 thing. I feel better about it now. I personally don't care about the grommet thing. I saw it on an 18.5 at Home Depot and it seems way to big plus I took the rubber part out and it was a huge pain to get it back in.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just trying to make sure I didn't get sold something super old or anything.

And I did get $50 off for it being the floor model, which is why I jumped on it at the time.
 
You got a ok deal. Just make sure that U have all the parts and that the unit is assembled correctly.
I NEVER have stores assemble anything for me. Leared the hard way =).
