After researching, the wooden side/bowl handles made their debut for 1981 (C) kettles. 1980 issue (B) was the final porcelain/metal bowl handles. Now I need (want) to figure out when Weber decided that the One Touch Silver wasn't good enough to have 2 bowl handles anymore. I'm guessing around 2000 when they switched from wood to plastic, but i'll need to investigate.

Nice work on the research. Everything I have seems to meet with your conclusions. I have a 1979 with two metal bowl handles. One other thing to think about is whaen did they switch from the two rivet wood handles to one screw in the middle?
