Custom Metal Charcoal Grates (The Burn Shop or similar companies)

I know all about the Killa Grilla SS grates, but for this thread I'd like to hear from anyone that has a custom grate from The Burn Shop or a similar shop.

Are they a pain to keep from rusting? Worse than cast iron, better/easier?

Are you using them as your "everyday" grilling grates? How do they work for things like burgers versus a low and slow pork butt?

Just curious to hear your opinions on them. They look really cool, especially considering you can get basically any design you want....sports teams, last name, etc...

Wife is asking me about Father's Day and might see about getting one of these made up from the burn shop....but if they aren't very practical to cook on then I'll probably pass.

People on the PK group on FaceBook rave about them. They also appreciate that he will make custom sizes for very old PK grills for which there are no alternatives.

All I have heard are positive reviews. I am sure you can’t expect the longevity and tolerance for neglect that high grade stainless offers, but in its place you get something very unique. Probably good heat retention, too.

I have burn shop on my Hasty Bake which I had him make out of stainless steel so it would not rust etc. Ask if stainless is still a option. Of course it is more.
