Crossmember question

Removing burner tubes from a 2008 s320 today. The tab that secures the crossmember detached from the crossmember tube. No cracks, no rust, just detached. I reassembled without incident. Everything fits as it should. Should I reattach with JB Weld or is that unnecessary.

Are you talking about the burner crossover tube?

The crossover tube. There is a tab that attaches it to the middle burner so the middle burner tube is supported by the other two and that tab broke off.

I suppose Some high temp JB weld might work, but it might fail pretty quick as well. You could probably wire the middle burner to the cross over tube.

Right before I went with the wire; I found a crossmember from a used set of burners from a silver b. Same length. Went with that.
