craycort or stok

Yep! I have noticed that some of the people that bought a stok a few months back are now using the regular weber grates. Get a Craycort!

May be worth contacting Charbroil customer service to see if this is still available. After glancing their website it appears that they're selling just the "insert" piece instead of the larger unit.

I bought one, but have yet to use it. Not bad for 30 bucks. Otherwise like Shaun said, go with the Craycort.

I've got that Charbroil grate, and I like it. It cooks great, but it's hard to take in and out of the grill while hot. The Craycort would be a much better option for removing individual sections. But as you probably know, they don't work extremely well with Performers and chimneys.

If I had it to do again, I'd get the Weber stainless steel grate. After a year of using the Charbroil, I'm not completely sure the heat of a good charcoal fire needs cast iron grates.

I have the weber gourmet grate set and love it. The rods are much heaver then the standard. The CI center section gives great grill marks. I also like using my steel wok in the center cutout for stir fry.

i've been using a stok grate since last summer.

it's still in great ahape and i've had no problems with it.

i'd buy it again. it rocks.

a charcoal chimney fits in the center hole.
The whole system is 2 pieces and a lot easier to move around than the 5-piece craycort.

I agree. I've had mine for stok grate 6 months or so and have had no problems whatsoever with it. I bought it when home depot was selling out the charcoal grills.

Has anyone tried just laying another CI grate over the standard weber grates?

I think I read somewhere that a rectangular Weber Q100 replacement CI grate will fit between the hinged grates on a 22.5 kettle?

Don't forget the stainless grate that Weber offers , available only from Weber.com. $29.99 plus free shipping through the end of the month, using some code posted elsewhere on the bulletin board.

Are those the same grates that come with a OTG?

You'd think they'd put them on the One Touch Gold, but Weber does not. They "might" put them on the new Platinum

Not sure.

But they can be purchased outright from Weber, even if you don't have the One Touch. Here's a link --> http://store.weber.com/items/?pid=1117 (Weber part # - 3070784)
