Cracked porcelain

While mounting a handle on my WSM I cracked the porcelain when I hit the side of the WSM with a nail set. Blue painters tape didn't prevent this injury to my smoker. Any ideas on how to repair this damage to prevent future rust?

I have touched up the outside of my WSM with Rustoleum, gloss black, high temp, engine enamel and it has held up fine.

Instead of a nail punch. I used the point of a pocket knife to scar a point spot for the drill bit to start. Then I used the smallest drill bit I had to make a pilot hole for the larger bit. I also used the blue tape. The porcelain is tuff stuff. You can add a drop of oil to the tip of the drill bit. That will help.
