Country Style Ribs for 40 people

How many pounds of country style ribs (pre-cooked weight) would I need for 40 people? Should I expect the same yield (approximately 50%) that I would get from a butt. I know they will cook a lot faster than a butt. I have only ever made these for 2 to 4 people before so never thought about it or really paid attention. Thanks.

I don't plan those by weight, I plan by serving size. I serve two of decent thickness per serving but I always make some extra. In some cases (children or people wanting less) only one will be served, so I don't plan many extra. For 40, typically mixed people, I might do 90, maybe 100 at the most.

Thanks for the quick reply. That helps, I can just take a look at what I've got. It will be a mixed crowd so 90 to 100 "ribs" should do the trick. Thanks again.

I was always taught that the conversion for ribs, chicken, items with bones have a .50 conversion. So 1# ribs is equal to 8 ounces of meat. Hope that helps. For instance at work I give out 1200#'s to feed about 1100# people thats factoring in case count, how many people will come to eat and whether they eat it or not
